BISS.ID Tracking I Module Tour

The solution for efficient route planning for manufacturers and suppliers

With BISS.ID Tour, we offer our customers the opportunity to quickly and easily create efficient plans for the delivery of their goods on transport racks in combination with the return of empty racks.

Deliveries of components on transport racks involve high demands

The requirements for deliveries of building components (such as insulated glass panes, windows, doors, etc.) are more specific than for general goods deliveries due to the often very large and bulky size of these goods, which are also very fragile.

Due to the significant increase in large elements with heavy triple panes, lorries are increasingly reaching their permissible load limits, which the dispatcher must recognise at the preliminary planning stage.

In addition, there are deliveries to construction sites and the timely delivery of custom-made items. This, combined with the need to avoid empty runs by retrieving empty transport racks, poses major challenges for dispatchers and thus for potential planning tools.

The major advantage of the IoT solution from BISS.ID is that leading solutions from other areas can be integrated very quickly and securely. We work with providers who are leaders in their field and who are constantly developing this as their core competence, which benefits BISS.ID customers.

We bring together the basic data and interfaces with the respective process software for quick and easy integration of the solutions into the platform.

The solution

Based on the inventory list in BISS.ID Tracking, our customers know at all times which racks need to be delivered and which empty racks need to be picked up en route. Compared to delivery planning based solely on production software, this offers the advantage that both can be combined and thus optimised.

Similarly, the connection to up-to-date online map material also allows for a response to short-term restrictions for lorries.

The data interface in the BISS.ID IoT solution can be used to transmit the weight and delivery address of goods that are currently only in the planning stage for production in order to create a preliminary plan. This provides initial feedback on whether the number of delivery locations in combination with the weight is realistic given the existing capacities and taking into account driving times.

It does not matter whether each vehicle is planned differently every day or whether there are fixed routes – the tool can take both into account. Various optimisations can be selected via multi-tour optimisation.

The truck's load can be calculated using a rack allocation logic, which warns you not only in terms of weight but also in terms of space if the capacity is insufficient.

Telematics solutions and active tracking of lorries can also be integrated.
